Jace Walters Recreation
Jace Walters is a 15 year old national podium level competitive shooter from Elyria Ohio that travels all around Ohio, the U.S.A and Canada competing in archery and firearm tournaments. Jace has also been a High Honor Roll Student since the beginning of 5th grade, mom and dad said if he doesn't maintain good grades that he won't be missing school to compete in competitive shooting competitions.
At the age of 5 Jace shot a bow and rifle for the first time. He liked it, but it was just something to do for fun when we didn't have a dirt bike race to go to. At 8 Jace started hunting and at the age of 9 got a Bear Apprentice 2 compound bow and started competing in the NFAA-Ohio archery events. A year later at 10 Jace started competeting in select national events and the following year earned his first national level podium, in Yankton South Dakota in the NFAA - First Dakota Classic. In 2022 an archery related injury greatly limited Jace's archery practice schedule, so he filled that time shooting firearms and then of course started competeting.
In 2023 Jace for archery will primarily stay in Ohio, this is mostly do to his nagging arm injury and increased firearms schedule. Within Ohio Jace still intends to compete for multiple State Level Shooter of the Year and attend select ProAm and National level events across the region as time and funds allow.
In 2023 Jace's primary firearms focus will again be competing in multiple GSSF indoor and outdoor matches within Ohio and the surrounding states, USPSA and competing in the Civilian Marksmanship Program national events at Camp Perry. As well as competeting in various steel, paper and action shooting outlaw matches across the region again as time and funds allow.
